This pre-nuptial shoot took place across various locations in London over the course of a day and a half, with much of the time spent travelling between locations to capture the city’s atmosphere and character. With the support of close friends assisting as makeup artists and helping maintain the flow of the shoot, the entire experience felt both collaborative and enjoyable — a balance of creativity and exploring the beauty of London at the same time. While the shoot was ultimately a success, it also came with unexpected challenges. During production, my 35mm wide-angle lens for the Sony A7 IV broke, leaving me with only my 85mm lens on hand. Fortunately, I had brought along my trusted backup camera, the Fujifilm X-T1 paired with a manual Samyang 12mm lens. The wider frames were captured using the Fujifilm setup, while the more compressed telephoto portraits were created with the Sony system. The editing process for this series was detailed yet intentional — clean in execution, with a cinematic blend of blue and yellow tones throughout. I’ve always associated London with cooler blue hues, and that vision naturally shaped the final look of the images. My goal for this project was to move away from the typical pre-nuptial photography style often seen across social media, and instead create something more personal, atmospheric, and visually distinct.
